Mr. Laurent hails from Cadillac, Michigan and came to Charleston with the US Air Force.
He began his career in manufactured housing in 1974 and began work with George Jones Homes in l975.
His knowledge and experience was one of the main reasons that Dixie Homes purchased George Jones Homes in 1994.
He spent thirteen years on the Manufactured Housing Institute of South Carolina’s board of Directors serving two terms on the Executive Board as Secretary.
In January 1993, he was appointed by Governor Carroll Campbell to the SC Manufactured Housing Board, has been reappointed by two subsequent Governors and is currently serving on the Board.
He resides with his wife Sheila in Summerville, SC and has a daughter who is currently attending college in Atlanta, GA. |
